Speedline Proposal Keeps Truckin'

Project agreements related to the extension of the PATCO Hi-Speedline have been formally signed between the Delaware River Port Authority and two engineering firms. The two firms, STV Inc., and PB Americas Inc., will analyze the issues surrounding three proposed routes in Southern New Jersey and two in Philadelphia. They will then choose the best and most viable option in each state. This analysis of alternatives is expected to take two years. Expanding PATCO is estimated to cost $2 billion in New Jersey and $1 billion in Philadelphia. Expansion is not likely to be complete for another eight to ten years.
