Greater Philadelphia the Next Hollywood?

Not long after Pennsylvania's tax-incentive package for filmmakers became law, Pacifica Ventures announced its plans for a $75 million entertainment production facility in the Philadelphia area. The facility is scheduled to open in the fall of 2008 and the Santa Monica-based company said that the state incentives, the Greater Philadelphia Film Office’s work and the region’s setting all sealed the deal. The company is considering a location in either Bucks, Delaware or Philadelphia county and is looking for a 500,000-square-foot facility. The project offers this region the potential for creating an industry of high-paying employment.
