Next Stop: Philadelphia…Only!
Amtrak’s Acela Express ride between New York and Washington, D.C. is now even shorter. Amtrak recently began offering once-a-day Acela Express service between the two cities with only one stop – in Philadelphia. As a result, the ride is now 10 minutes shorter and provides the Greater Philadelphia region's residents with a non-stop train ride to either New York or D.C. This reduces the usual 2 hour and 45 minute ride time by 6 percent and was created to appease business travelers. The service leaves New York’s Penn Station at 6:50am, stops in Philadelphia at 7:53am and arrives in Washington, D.C.’s Union Station at 9:25am. In the evening, it leaves Washington at 3:55pm, stops in Philadelphia at 5:20pm and arrives in New York by 6:30pm.
