Rutgers Opens New Integrated Biology Center

Rutgers Camden recently launched a life science research program, which will combine the fields of biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, psychology and computer science. By integrating these studies and experts in these fields, researchers hope to develop theories about biological systems and how they interact with each other. The Center for Computational and Integrative Biology puts Rutgers Camden at the forefront of science and this approach has gained currency at the National Institutes of Health and other organizations. The center’s work will dovetail with projects from the Coriell Institute, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Camden and the Cooper Cancer Institute. Rutgers is also preparing to launch a master’s and doctoral program that could begin enrollment within the next two years.
