Maple Shade Designated a Main Street Member

Maple Shade was recently named a member of the state's Main Street New Jersey program, a revitalization program promoting the historic and economic redevelopment of traditional business districts in New Jersey. According to a press release issued by the Department of Community Affairs (DCA), it accepts applications and designates selected communities to join the program every two years. Chosen communities receive valuable technical support and training to assist in restoring their Main Streets as centers of community and economic activity. The program helps municipalities improve the economy, appearance and image of their central business districts through the organization of local citizens and resources.  Maple Shade received the Partner level designation, which is given to towns whose focus will mostly be on organization, development, growth and awareness in the initial year.
