A Region with More Cohesion
Regional collaboration is the key to greater economic growth, said Tom Morr, Select's President and CEO, in a recent Philadelphia Business Journal op-ed. In this piece, Morr discussed the importance of the Greater Philadelphia region's leaders working together to grow the local economy. He also touched on Select's progress in attracting new companies to the region. Select has helped bring 26 companies to the region, with an associated 1,676 total new jobs in 2007 and the potential of 800 more in the next several years. These firms will generate an estimated $566.2 million annual increase in gross regional product.
Morr also highlighted Select's revamped Web site, recently published research report on higher education and the CEO Council's efforts to
improve technology transfer through a research study and action plan, among many other projects.
