| $10 Million Renovation for New Jersey Hospital
Deborah Heart and Lung Center has announced plans for a $10 million renovation project, which would include refurbished patient rooms and improved medical technology. Deborah is a 161-bed teaching hospital, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of congenital and acquired heart, lung and vascular diseases in adults. It also provides outpatient cardiology services for children.
The medical technology enhancements include the installation of a six-bed electrophysiology suite designed to diagnose and treat congestive heart failure. It will include new heart imaging equipment and a Stereotaxis magnetic-based steering catheter. The Stereotaxis catheter, when used along with a sophisticated mapping system, allows doctors to test the electrical activity inside the heart. The hospital will also install a PET/CT scanner.
