New Commerce Director Comes Home Again

Philadelphia’s new Commerce Director says said his most pressing task is to raise city-wide morale and spread the message of the attractiveness of the region.

Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development and Commerce Director Andrew Altman spoke at Select Greater Philadelphia’s Philadelphia County Breakfast recently about his new job. Altman, who grew up in Philadelphia’s Germantown neighborhood, said other goals include lowering business taxes and improving the police force.

"Philadelphians don’t recognize how amazing a region we have," Altman said. "I think we don’t appreciate the assets we have."
