With First Kick just about two months away, Philadelphia Union announced that during the club's inaugural season, JP Dellacamera, long-time commentator of ABC and ESPN's Major League Soccer broadcasts, will be calling their games.
Dellacamera will continue to be the lead voice on the networks' MLS national broadcasts in addition to his duties with Philadelphia Union. |

Philadelphia Makes the Final List for World Cup

The USA Bid Committee released the final list of cities to be included in its official Bid Book to FIFA -- and Philadelphia has made the cut!
That means this region could be the site of a future World Cup match!
"It was very difficult to narrow the list of cities to 18, the maximum allowed by FIFA," said David Downs, Exectuive Director of USA Bid Committee.
"All 27 locations under consideration demonstrated an incredible understanding and passion for the Game, and would have made excellent additions to our bid."

"The 18 cities that were selected far exceed FIFA's criteria and were able to deliver signed FIFA agreements," noted Downs.
"They represent all four time zones and every corner of the country, making this a truly national bid."
With the selection of these 18 cities, the USA Bid Committee is another step closer to completing the bid and bringing the FIFA World Cup™ back to the United States. |
7th Annual Global Business Conference to Address Regional Economy
The World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia and Drexel’s LeBow College of Business present the: 7th Annual Global Business Conference, which happens on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 from 8:00am - 3:00pm at Drexel University's

Sea Box Moving HQ to Cinnaminson, New Jersey

AGC Flat Glass North America, Inc. has sold the 378,000 sq. ft. facility on 51 acres at 700 Union Landing Road in Cinnaminson, New Jersey to 1 Sea Box Drive, LLC of Cinnaminson. The sale price was $4,700,000.
The new owner, Sea Box, Inc., specializes in new design and manufacture of custom shipping containers, primarily for the defense industry.

NextFab Studio, a membership-based technology workshop and prototyping center, unveiled its brand-new facility this month.
The 3,600-square-foot facility provides comfortable, clean, and safe workspaces equipped with 3D printers, laser cutters, digital embroiderers and other cutting-edge tools.

The Wistar Institute and Nikon Small World launched the Nikon Small World exhibit of award-winning photographs taken through the light microscope on January 7, 2010. The exhibit is open free to the public through March 12, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at The Wistar Institute, 3601 Spruce Street, West Philadelphia.
Wistar is the only local host of this national exhibit of 20 winning images in Nikon's international photomicrography competition.

108th Philadelphia International AutoShow Returns to the Convention Center

The Philadelphia International Auto Show, led by Automobile Dealers Association of Greater Philadelphia, returns to the Pennsylvania Convention Center from Jan. 30 to Feb. 7.

New Website Supports Delaware River Deepening
This month, the Philadelphia Regional Port Authority launched a website in support of deepening the Delaware River to 45 feet. The new website – www.supportthedeepening.com -- will detail the economic benefits of the project, specify the facts about its environmental impact and counter the sometimes false and misleading claims of opponents.

Brazilian and German Media Tout the Region's Logistics Capabilities
As you may recall, a few months ago Select Greater Philadelphia hosted a comprehensive International Logistics Media tour featuring the region's robust logistics industry encompassing land, sea and sky and its significant impact on global trade. The tour helped fill important information gaps about the region's logistics industry to a number of participating journalists spanning the globe from countries including United Kingdom, South Africa, South Korea, Brazil, Germany and Australia.
In addition to the UK Reefer International article, which appeared a couple of months ago, two more feature articles have now surfaced from publications in Brazil and Germany.
